Institutional Authority

Academic degrees are granted by Roosevelt International University of Baptist following its policies and system of governance. Graduating of degrees is only on satisfactory completion of approved academic programs as well as meeting all the requirements of the institution.

Academic Framework

Degree Award & Program Structure

Formal Enrollment

Students must be formally enrolled in an approved academic program and remain academically sound throughout the course of study.

Credit & GPA Requirements

Completion of required credit hours with the minimum cumulative GPA as defined by the University is mandatory for degree completion.

Academic Integrity

All students must comply with institutional policies, academic integrity standards, and the University Code of Conduct.

In order to receive the award of any degree from Roosevelt International University of Baptist, a student must successfully complete all required coursework, examinations, and institutional obligations while maintaining satisfactory academic standing and ethical conduct.

Academic Program Structure

Each academic program is designed to ensure progressive learning and academic development. Programs are composed of core courses, elective courses (where applicable), practical learning components, and final academic evaluations.

  • Core courses essential to the discipline of study
  • Elective courses where applicable
  • Capstone projects, internships, or fieldwork (if required)
  • Final examinations, thesis, or dissertation for postgraduate and doctoral programs

Undergraduate Degree Requirements

To be eligible for the award of a Bachelor’s degree, students must fulfill all undergraduate academic requirements as prescribed by the University.

  • Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent at the time of admission
  • Successful completion of all required core and elective courses
  • Completion of the prescribed number of credit hours
  • Maintenance of a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.3
  • Successful completion of all examinations, projects, and assignments
  • Fulfillment of practicum, internship, or field training requirements (if applicable)

Postgraduate Degree Requirements (Master’s Programs)

To obtain a Master’s degree, students must demonstrate advanced academic competency and successfully complete all graduate-level requirements.

  • Possession of a recognized undergraduate degree or equivalent
  • Completion of all graduate-level coursework
  • Fulfillment of required credit hours for the program
  • Maintenance of the minimum cumulative GPA required for graduate studies
  • Successful completion of a thesis, project, or comprehensive examination
  • Demonstration of advanced knowledge in the chosen field of study

Doctoral Degree Requirements (PhD / Professional Degrees)

Doctoral programs emphasize independent research, academic contribution, and advanced scholarly achievement.

  • Possession of a recognized Master’s degree or equivalent
  • Completion of all required doctoral-level coursework
  • Successful completion of qualifying or comprehensive examinations
  • Preparation and presentation of an original dissertation
  • Successful defense of the dissertation before an academic review committee
  • Demonstration of independent research capability and scholarly contribution
  • Fulfillment of publication or dissemination requirements where applicable

Credit Hour Completion

Students have to fulfill the number of credit hours provided in their academic plan. The credits are offered after a successful completion of coursework, practical training and research as stipulated in the credit Hour Policy.

Minimal Achievement Academic Standards

Students must:

  • Have the lowest cumulative GPA set by the University.
  • Demonstrate meet advancement every academic semester.
  • Avoid probation or dismissal of studies.
  • Adhere to policies of academic honesty and academic integrity.
  • Lack of academic standards could lead to probation, suspension or termination.

Transfer Credit and Previous Learning

Transfer credits can be issued in the following areas:

  • Equivalency of coursework
  • Applicability to the course of study.
  • Institutional recognition
  • Department and Academic Council academic approval.

Where the case is justifiable, credits may be granted through previous learning or working experience according to the University policy.

Maximum amount of time to complete the degree

The maximum duration to finish the program is required of the students:

  • Bachelor degree: under the authorized time frame.
  • Master degree: within the allowed time.
  • Doctoral degree: within the allowable time.
  • The extensions can be on a written request and by academic sanction.

Graduation Application and Clearance

A student who wants to apply to be graduated will need to:

  • File an official application of graduation.
  • Confirm the accomplishment of all academic requirements.
  • Settle all the pending debts and liabilities.
  • Get permission of Registrar and Academic Affairs Office.

Award and Degree Conferral

The award of degrees is based on:

  • Confirmation of academic qualification.
  • Acceptance by Academic Council.
  • Approval by the University governing body.
  • Featuring in the graduation list.

Revocation of Degree

The University has the right to cancel a degree once it is discovered that:

  • False documentation was accepted.
  • There was academic dishonesty.
  • The requirements of degrees were not met properly.

Amendments and Review

The University can change this Degree Requirements policy at any point in order to promote the quality of academics in the institution, compliance, and improvement in the institution.

Applicability

This policy is applicable to any undergraduate, postgraduate, or doctoral program provided at Roosevelt International University of Baptist in any form of learning.
